You will be assigned a personal tutor for each course of study you undertake. If you experience any difficulty with a lessons or assignment, your tutor can provide help and guidance via email.
Tutor's host regular Zoom sessions throughout the year to introduce / consolidate topics of study and to provide an opportunity to ask questions and / or discuss coursework. Session timetables are provided on your visual learning portal upon approval of your application
If you have a known learning difficulty, staff at Scottish Highers Online will do their best to support you. We are unable to assess support needs but will act on any diagnosis you have and inform SQA of any alterative exam arrangements required (e.g. extra time, use of a laptop).
Please note: separate accommodation requests may incur an additional charge. If you do experience any difficulty with your studies – academic or otherwise – you should discuss this with your tutor as soon as possible. If your tutor is unable to help, they may direct you to the head of department or centre manager for support.
For disabled students aged 15 - 25 years, ILF Scotland may provide financial support towards the cost of your courses. See link for details:
All of our courses are created, assessed and supported by a team of fully-qualified and experienced subject specialists from a range of Secondary (school), Further (college) and Higher (university) Education backgrounds. As well as providing feedback and guidance on your assignments, they will also help you if you get stuck and require extra support. The final exam, which you will sit in our exam centre in Perth or via a sitting arrangement with a local school or college, is administered and marked by the SQA to determine your final award.
Staff at SHO are committed to your success so please let us know if you experience any problems and are here to help you no matter what stage of the course you are at.
