This course provides understanding of how language works and how to use language to communicate ideas, opinions and information.

Learning a language enables you to make connections with different people and their cultures and to play a fuller part as global citizens. The ability to use language effectively lies at the centre of thinking and learning. You will reflect, communicate, and develop ideas through language.
The course consists of 24 SCQF credit points which includes time for preparation for course assessment. The notional length of time for candidates to complete the course is 160 hours.

On completion of all three units, you will attempt a Prelim / mock exam paper via remote assessment. This will be marked by your tutor who will highlight any areas of weakness and help you devise a revision plan to improve your performance in the final exam.
